Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 July 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Sooma ("Sooma", "we", "us") and govern your use of the Sooma app and website. By using Sooma, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Important: Sooma is a budgeting tool, not a bank, financial adviser, or regulated financial-advice service. It helps you understand your own money — it does not give personalised financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

1. What Sooma does

Sooma estimates what is "safe to spend" before your next payday based on the income, bills, goals and spending you provide or that are imported from a bank you choose to connect. The figures are estimates to help you make your own decisions. You are responsible for your own financial choices.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and resident in the United Kingdom to use Sooma.

3. Your account

You sign in using Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for the activity that happens under it. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Connecting a bank

Bank connection is optional and available on Premium. It uses a regulated open-banking provider (TrueLayer) and is read-only: Sooma can see transaction data you authorise, but can never move, send, or spend your money. You can withdraw access at any time by disconnecting the bank in the app or through your bank.

5. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, attempt to break its security, access other users’ data, or use it for unlawful purposes.

7. No financial advice & no warranty

Sooma is provided "as is". While we work hard to keep it accurate and available, we do not guarantee that calculations are error-free, that the service is uninterrupted, or that imported data is complete or timely. Nothing in Sooma is financial advice. Always check your actual bank balance before making important decisions.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sooma is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for financial decisions you make based on the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Sooma and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached or if we need to for legal or security reasons.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; we will update the date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
